Galactic Energy Successfully Completes Cold Flow Test of PALLAS-1 Pressurized Delivery System

2024/04/15

Recently, Galactic Energy completed the cold flow test of the second-stage liquid oxygen tank of the pressurization and transportation system of the reusable liquid launch vehicle PALLAS-1 (hereinafter referred to as the cold flow test). During the test, the pressurization and transportation system, structural system, electrical system, ground launch support system and other systems were well-matched and worked normally, and a large amount of valid data was obtained, making the test a complete success.

PALLAS-1 is a medium-to-large-sized reusable liquid launch vehicle independently developed by StarHub Aerospace Corporation, which is mainly oriented to the market demand for large-scale constellation networking. It has a take-off mass of 283 tons, a maximum LEO capacity of 8 tons, and the LEO capacity can be increased to 17.5 tons by expanding the CBC bundle configuration, making it a commercial launch vehicle with a very cost-effective price.

The second-stage liquid oxygen tank of Zhishenxing-1 liquid launch vehicle adopts the open autogenous pressurization + room temperature helium make-up program. In order to verify the pressurization scheme and the compatibility between the rocket systems, the PALLAS-1 liquid launch vehicle has carried out the cold flow test of the second-stage liquid oxygen tank, obtained the key performance parameters of each participating system, and completed the verification and optimization of the tank pressurization system.

Up to now, Galactic Energy has successively completed the whole-system test run of the Welkin-50 (CQ-50) liquid oxygen kerosene engine, the reliability test run of the auxiliary power system, the inter-stage separation test, the vibration test of the inter-tank section, the vibration test of the typical low-temperature/normal-temperature pipeline, the molding of the test ensemble arrow, the control system semiproperty simulation test, the comprehensive matching test of the electrical system, the pressurization and delivery system cold flow test, the engine long-range test, and the optimization of the pressurization system of the engine. system cold flow test, engine long-range test run and other large-scale ground tests.
